Elena's words come off to me as a threat.

As I watch her walk down the hallway and disappear, I breath a sigh of relief because she hasn't asked me whether I was the one that was eavesdropping on them.

But I still feel like her visit was just her way of trying to see what I know.

She couldn't dare ask me if I heard what she was saying to the mysterious person that was in the room with her.

If she did that, she would only be admitting to everything that she said.
