Internally, I froze.

But I couldn't let Ronan see that. So, I went ahead and continued walking up the stairs to where the maid was, and when she didn't move out of the way, I asked her,

"Are we going to stand here all day, or are you going to take me to the pack healer?"

She blinked rapidly, shifting her gaze to Ronan who was probably still standing where I left him, to me.
