After breakfast, I watched Aurora drift into sleep, her lashes settling softly against her cheeks, her lips curved in a faint smile. The excitement still lingered on her face, easing the weight that had been crushing my chest all night.

Once her breathing softened into a steady rhythm, I left her with Ryan. I didn't want her to be left alone.
