Aurora pov

I slowly opened my eyes, blinking twice before the world around me came into focus. My lips parted as I released a soft, shaky breath. The room was dim, but the warm glow of the table lamps on both sides of the bed cut through the darkness, their light spilling softly across the walls.

I shifted my gaze from the ceiling and froze when I saw Alpha Manuel seated in a chair beside the bed. His head rested against the backrest, eyes closed, he was asleep.
