The door wouldn’t budge. I pulled, pushed, slammed my shoulder against it, but it stayed locked. My breath came in short gasps and frustration boiled inside me.

“Kayden!” I shouted again while pounding my fists against the wood. “Open this door! You can’t keep me in here!”
