Kayden kept his promise.

A few days passed after everything that happened in the temple. After the blood. After the dark magic. After the end of Tariq.

The pack slowly returned to its normal rhythm. The air no longer felt heavy with fear. The nights were quieter. The shadows did not feel like they were hiding monsters anymore.

And for the first time in a long while, I could breathe without feeling hunted.

But tonight, none of that mattered.

Tonight, it was just us.
