I entered my private room, followed by Nadine walking behind me. It was ironic because I felt like a stranger to my wife, and I hesitated to call her that. Her gait was so different. The woman who had previously seemed so fragile, full of caution, and always seeking protection from me. This woman, however, walked with great confidence.
