"What's wrong with you, Ariel? You've been quiet this whole time."

I turned and gave Nadine a smile while she was breastfeeding her baby.

"I'm fine," I replied.

"Don't lie to me. You think I don't notice? You've been frowning since you got here. You haven't said a word."

"I don't have anything to say." I'd been sitting on the sofa, but I decided to get up. I went over to Nadine and looked at her baby.
