They settled in the living room as the afternoon sun slanted through the tall windows. Marcus brought tea, and for a while, they simply sat together in comfortable silence.

"I keep thinking about tomorrow," Luna said eventually. "Taking you both to meet Mom properly. Being all together as a family."

"I'm nervous," Grace admitted. "What if she's disappointed in who I've become? I barely remember her, and I've made so many mistakes—"

"She's going to love you," Luna interrupted firmly. ...
