I was so mad that I walked out of Dad's office, disregarding his plea for me to return. I shut the door, fighting the urge to cry in anger.

"Get it together, Amelia. You should have seen this coming." I said to myself, recalling the chat I had with Kim and Jocelyn earlier. "He always says he cares about me, and I am so dumb for believing him, time and time again."
