The car rolled to a stop in front of the grand Wilson estate, and before I could even take a breath, the huge metal gates groaned open as if they had been waiting all this time just for me. I stared out the tinted window, my chest tightening as the memories flooded in, one after another, like waves crashing on an old, familiar shore.
