I let out a quiet sigh of relief when none of the cops, Edmund, or even my father came rushing out to check on me. For a brief moment, I allowed myself to just breathe, feeling the tension in my shoulders ease slightly. Slowly, I lowered my hand and forced a calm tone into my voice.
