When I returned to the palace, Ray was already with Vanessa. She had explained every one of her suspicions, and Ray had a doubtful look. Jake was his friend; he better have a good excuse for him. And hadn’t he wished Delta Jonah didn’t find his mate here? What was wrong with that?
