Kaleb’s POV

The world was still tilting.

Rosa’s hands were still on me again. Too insistent and relentless. Her whisper in my ear sent bile up my throat.

“Just let it happen, Kaleb. The pack needs this. You need this. I’ll give you everything Moira never could.”

I wanted to tear her throat out. I wanted to scream, to rip the walls apart, but my body betrayed me, sluggish and unresponsive.
