I stare down at the little pup from earlier, who was stuck in the den during the state of emergency.

I had totally forgotten about him, until this moment. Staring at his little self, looking up at me meekly makes my heart hurt a little.

Guilt eats at me painfully at the thought of not remembering him until now.
