They both raise their head to look at me, Dyer’s eyes land on me briefly before he returns his gaze to his food.

Without saying a word, I walk towards the empty chair opposite Dyer and pull it out to sit down.

They both remain silent and continue with their meal. The silence feels awkward, and I can't help but feel out of place.

“Why did he call for me to join him if he had company here already?” I ponder silently.
