AISLYN

It takes a while before I recover from the shock and respond.

“Aislyn,” he calls out again.

I pull the phone from my ear to check the number one more time.

He must be using a different number to call since I blocked his other line.

“Aislyn, did you get my text?” he asks over the phone.

“Yes,” I reply curtly and end the call. I also block this number so he won't be able to use it to assess me again.
