The night wind carried something strange.... too still, too sharp.

I narrowed my eyes at the heavy treeline ahead, and my jaw clenched in annoyance as Ragnar continued to stir beneath my skin. The air smelled off and wrong. It was not blood nor was it death. It was something I couldn't quite place yet.

“William,” I snapped over my shoulder. My beta appeared at once, ready. “We’re wasting time combing this ground like humans. Tell them to shift. Now.”
