"I still don't get why we have to go to this thing," Dante grumbled as we put the finishing touches to our clothing.

I smiled a bit. Since the conversation with his father, he'd been pissed about staying in Blackthorn Pack, but he wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, so we stayed.

We didn't have to attend the ball, of course, but I convinced him otherwise. I didn't think staying involved: locking ourselves in the bedroom and having sex all day long.
