Cassian's POV

The sound of shattering glass echoed through my chambers as I hurled the goblet against the wall. Wine splattered across the stone like blood, dripping down in thick rivulets.

"No!"

My voice was raw, torn from somewhere deep in my chest. I grabbed the nearest object—a heavy candle holder—and threw it with all my strength. It crashed into the mirror, splintering my reflection into a thousand fractured pieces.
