Verity's POV

One moment we were all standing there frozen in the aftermath of the door slamming shut and the next moment everything exploded into chaos. The massive windows along the eastern wall shattered inward and glass rained down on the guests below. People shrieked and scrambled away from the spray of shards that glittered like deadly diamonds in the chandelier light.
