Chapter Three….

“Please don’t hurt me.” I whispered, my breath shaky, my eyes filled with tears and my cheek swollen due to the sudden sensation that burned it. The man has hit me when I punched him when he came up from behind.

I had no idea what was going on, I was tied to the chair, the two men pacing across the room like they were waiting for someone.

“So, we babysit.” One of them asked, he paused for a moment to look at me, I had called him blondie in my head and while the other one was bald.

“Yes, boss is going to call and you are going to have to explain why she has a swollen cheek, you could not handle yourself for five fucking minutes, you have to come up from behind after I asked you not to fucking do that.” The bald man yelled, I didn’t dare stare directly at him.

“I will find something to fix it, in the mean time, get over yourself and make sure those men outside have no idea what’s happening.” Blondie stated and more tears streamed down my cheek.

The two men were dressed as electricians, with names attached to their uniform, I could barely read it, given the fact I didn’t want any of them to know I was staring at them.

The time ticked and all I could hear was the annoying sound of the clock I got as I prayed that Candice would not come back here, I can’t handle the thought of anything happening to her.

Knock knock.

The two men rushed into the room and they glanced at me.

“Who is it, are you expecting anyone.” The bald man asked, his eyes filled with anger, his tone was filled with rage and my hands shook at the thought of Candice being the one behind the door.

“Say something.” The blondie yelled and I didn’t speak, I shake my head a few times, unable to speak when more tears stream down my cheek

I watched as blondie headed toward the door and suddenly, I could not explain how it happened, blondie was thrown to the wall and someone walked in, I watched as the demure of the room changed, my eyes peered up and it met his.

The stranger from the party, his radiant blue eyes were on mine, his black suit hugged his body softly when my eyes searched through his tattoos, he didn’t look happy.

“You stay right there or I  will kill her.” The bald man yelled, blondie on the other hand was still on the floor, my fear heightened when he pulled  out a gun and he pointed it toward me.

I didn’t think the stranger would save me, we had one snacks and one kiss, why was he here, is he the boss they have been waitingfor, I sounded dumb even thinking about that, he won’t have threatened his boss.

“Please no, I don’t want to die.” I whispered in a shaky voice, so low I doubted if anyone heard what I said, I didn’t want to be taken not like this.

I closed my eyes for a second and I mumbled a silent prayer when I felt the gun being further pressed to my temples, the man was yelling but the stranger didn’t stop, he didn’t care that my life was on the line.

The stakes were high but he didn’t care, his eyes were filled with blood and rage, when he stopped in his tracks and he pulled his hand up in the air like he was surrendering.

That’s all it took him to pull out his gun and the splash of blood covered my face, a scream escaped my lips.

“No.” I yelled, my spit mixed with the blood of the man that laid on my floor and the stranger rushed to me. “You killed him, you took his life away.”

The stranger paused to look at me, before he returned to taking off the ropes.

“You are crying about a man that wanted to hurt you.” He asked, there was a moment of confusion that filled his tone when his eyes met mine. “People like him should be dead.”

“You don’t get to decide that, you don’t get to play God.” I whispered, I could barely look at the man laying beside me and all I cared about was washing my face.

The stranger stopped what he was doing and his eyes met mine again. He moved closer to me, his perfume scented of danger and power.

“I am God sweetheart, you just don’t know yet.” His voice was low and dangerous. What did he mean by that.

I pulled away from him and I helped myself with the rest of the ropes before I rushed into the kitchen and I washed my face, the events of moments ago still playing in my head.

By the time I got to the living room, I saw other people taking the body out, one of them was still alive.

“Who are you?.” I whispered, “how did you know what was happening, did you send the flowers; those men outside my apartment, are they working for you?.” I asked, I watched as the men who held the bodystopped in those tracks, like it was a sin taking to the stranger the way I did.

“You ask a lot of questions Aurora.” He said,

The way he said my name, like it was a promise, one that I am never going to escape from.

He looked at me and at the apartment and I watched as his jaw tensed.

“You are not safe here.” He said.

“I know.” I whispered.

“You are coming with me.” He demanded, his eyes holding so much questions.

“I would have to be dead for that to happen, I don’t even know who you are, you could be the monster that has those men hurt me, you killed and you didn’t even care.”

“Aurora.” He said, his tone was firm and low. “You kissed me and now they think you are mine.”

My legs went weak “Who are you.”

“Your protector.” He said and I shake my head.

“You are a murderer.” I whispered when he stopped in his tracks, the man laying on the floor start to stir and my breath hitches.

“You have a choice sweetheart, stay here and die or come live with me.”
