Ava's POV
I stood there speechless. He had forgotten me. Even if heremembered me it was worthless. I was just a club girl who he had a one night stand with and dumped.
I just had to leave it this way.
"I don't care how much my parent paid you to ruin my life, but I'll make sure you regret ever stepping your foot here."
His words sent cold shiver down my spine freezing me in place. I was really in great trouble then. It was too late to turn back.
He left without looking back.
In the evening, I couldn't bear being in the room all alone, so I decided to take a tour around the house. After all, I'd be living here, so it was best I got familiar with the environment.
I realized that the house was huge and more complex than I thought.
I felt so relieved when I finally located the kitchen. I was so hungry but then I don't know if it was right to take food.
I had not eaten all day. I quickly opened the refrigerator and found some fruits. I took them out a long with the bottle of yogurt.
Hearing a loud and powerful footsteps, I turned around slowly, only to meet a girl striding into the kitchen.
She was standing just inches away from me, her arms crossed, face twisted in disgust. Her brows furrowed like she'd been holding onto this anger for a while, and now she had finally found a reason to unleash it.
“You just walk in and eat everything, huh?” she snapped. “You haven't lifted a finger since you got here, yet you think you're entitled to my mother’s kitchen?”
I blinked. What was she talking about? This must be Michael's sister.
“Don’t touch anything that belongs to my brother. Don’t touch anything that comes from my mother without my permission." She scoffed.
“Don’t even think about it.”
Her voice dripped with venom, and I felt the burn in my chest. I hadn’t even spoken a word. I didn’t know what to say.
She looked me up and down like I was some kind of stray animal. “Just look at her,” she sneered. “Ugly little thing. Ew.”
Then she threw her head back and laughed. Loudly. Mockingly.
“This is what my brother calls a wife?” she mocked.
"Don't insult me," I said angrily, she was just a little girl just because she had the privilege doesn't mine she could insult me.
Then I turned to leave, quietly, just wanting to get away.
But she stepped forward suddenly and grabbed my arm. “Are you walking out on me?”
I turned slowly, meeting her furious glare. “Yes, I'm."
She yanked the bag from my hand. “And what’s this, huh? Drop it. That’s what I want to eat. You don’t get to touch it. Go find food from that trash family of yours.”
I froze. My hands were empty now. My stomach twisted with both hunger and humiliation.
I walked away without saying another word.
I got into the room. This was worse than hell now. I sat on the bed trying to process what just happened, when Michael, my husband walked in.
"What are you doing here? I thought I told the guard to send you out. Now you are on my bed. What?" he yelled.
"Get out!" his face was flushed with anger.
"Were was I going to?" I asked, furiously.
"Guards!"
Three people ran in.
"Release the dogs!" he said.
Before I could speak, the guards pushed me out the door and slammed it in my face.
"Sir, Micheal, please, " I called, knocking so hard but then no one responded. "I am sorry! I don't know what I did wrong but you can't keep me here. "
I heard a voice said, "You were looking for a place. So I found a good place for you."
"I am begging you, I will leave tomorrow, just let me in."
I paused when I heard barking sounds.
I recalled that he had told the guards to release the dogs.
What dogs?
I looked towards the direction and found two dogs running towards me.
If I hadn't heard it before that it was dogs, I would have thought it was wolves.
I startled and then ran as fast as my legs could carry me.
No I wasn't suppose to die like this!
I was still young and still had a future!
My life must had taken different twist and turns but then it wasn't suppose to be the end of the world.
I ran into the courtyard of the house. I could still here them barking and charging towards me.
It felt like they had ripped me apart if they caught sight of me.
I saw what looked like a small cottage not far away and I ran into it, slamming the door shut.
I quickly ran to the windows and closed them.
To my dismay there was a push on the door. As if the dogs were trying to break in.
So I was finally going to die like that.
Panic filled me as I looked around and saw a table.
I hurried toward it and pushed it in front of the door.
The barking continued while I sat on the floor trying to catch my breath.
I was trembling so hard.
In a dark room. The place was dirty and abandoned.
The windows were old and I was scared the dogs might break it.
I moved against the wall and hugged my knees. I encouraged my self with the some words. I might finally have the time to meet my mum.
I sat there trying to muster some courage.
I didn't know how long I passed out, but the barking stopped.
I didn't know if the dogs were still outside or if they had been sent back to their cages.
But I didn't want to find out, so I continued sitting there.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Are dogs able to knock now?
I swallowed and said nothing. My eyes were closed and then the door opened.
