Ava's POV
His eyes reddened in anger. He was about to hit me when my eyes snapped open from deep sleep. It was a nightmare! Another nightmare that was connected to him. I mean Michael.
"Oh, she is awake now! Go inform her husband!" a voice said which eventually brought me back to reality.
"What! I was back here!" I said as I looked around the room, sitting upright.
"Be careful, miss." That was when I saw a doctor who hurried to assist me.
My head flashed back to what happened before I fainted and I knew this was the worst day ever.
I was about to ask the doctor what I was doing here, but then it was no use. I now know what brought me here. This was Michael's bedroom I avoided so much. How could I come back to this arrogant man's bedroom?
"Hope everything is fine, Miss?" The doctor asked again.
"Yes, I am fine," I said, but then I suddenly heard Michael's voice.
What was he going to do next? Hit me! Yell at me! Call me a cheat! I know that was all and I wasn't surprised.
I wanted to ask the doctor if he had seen Henry, but then how in the world was he supposed to know where Henry was? That sounded stupid.
The fact that I escaped cruelty but was caught made me tighten my teeth in pain as tears flowed down my cheeks.
"Wow! The good-for-nothing bitch is awake! That is so good!" I heard a female voice say, I tried to keep my face straight before they got in.
My heart skipped a beat. Immediately, I saw Michael Miller walk arrogantly.
In seconds, his family filled the room, and the fury in their eyes was so visible. Only Logan had this weird smile on his face.
This was ridiculous!
"Doctor, please! No need for anything else. You can leave her! She is okay and doesn't need treatment." The lady interrupted the doctor immediately.
Mannerless!
"Okay, ma'am!" The doctor said and signalled the nurse who assisted him to pack up the equipment so that they could leave.
They left in minutes and the room was silent again. I tried to raise my head and face them. But their face were scary.
"Hey bitch, or whatever your stupid name is." Lisa, Michael's sister yelled.
I knew this was just the beginning and I was ready for all kinds of insults.
However, before I knew it, I felt someone dragging my hair with full intensity, something that hurt my scalp.
"Ahh!" I screamed, but I felt so stupid letting her drag my hair.
"Stop that!" I yelled, and she refused; the grip tightened.
I pulled out forcefully, pushing her to the floor.
"Ouch!" she screamed in pain, or maybe in pretense, because I did not push her so well.
Everyone was shocked in the room. They looked like they were all going to pounce on me this time. Not one but all of them.
"Ava how dare you raise your hands on my daughter in front of me. What right do you have?" she growled and I knew the next thing was going to be a slap.
It wasn't a slap. I summoned the courage to look at her, but then her hands were held by Michael. I was so shocked.
Really? I was getting a slap as always. Michael held her hand?
"Let her be mom!" I heard his voice, it was Michael.
"What?" she yelled in shock. "Are you okay, Michael?"
"Mom? What made you think I'm not okay? I don't want you to stress yourself out. You know the doctor said yelling is not so good for you. You need to rest. Lisa, take Mom to her room. I will deal with Ava myself."
"Okay, if you say so, son," she said, and they left, leaving me and Michael in the room.
"Don't think I saved you," he said breaking the silence.
He will never lay his hands on me. Though I know that I wasn't stronger than him but he can't do anything to me.
"What do you want to do now that your family her gone? Hit me! Punish me! There was no need to send your family out. You would have just let them do whatever they feel they want to do with me." I said, knowing fully well that he saved my life.
For the time I had been with him. He had never hit and could never.
"Well, I won't touch you bitch! You lied to me that you could never cheat on me. I will be so stupid if I ever believe that." he growled.
"I did not cheat on you," I yelled at the top of my voice.
"Shut up, bitch! You are still lying to me after everything that I saw yesterday. You planned to escape with your lover. Why did you agree to marry me?" he muttered.
"How many times do I need to tell you that I never agreed to marry you. I was forced to marry a sick man, so that he could bear kids before he dies." I said, knowing that this would offend him and all I wish is for him to send me out and also convince his family to let me go.
"What? That was why you cheated with another man," he yelled.
"I wish I did. That would have been a lot better." I said with a smile.
"Just so you know, the guy is dead! This is really going to make you wise up!" Michael said with a sarcastic smile.
My stomach churned and my heart skipped; my breath caught in my throat, and I gasped as what he said kept replaying steadily in my head.
"That guy is dead. I mean your lover boy is dead. How do you feel now? At least you now know the kind of person you are dealing with."
"W-what? I-it can't be. Henry?" I stammered.
Not him? It can never be Henry. I will definitely take revenge.
"You can never do that, Michael!" I yelled.
