Ava's POV
"You can't do anything to me, you cheated on your husband and that is what a man deserves when he tries to cross his boundaries," Michael growled.
"I never cheated on you. Sorry to say, if I ever find out that the young man is dead, my friend is dead. You ever regret getting married to me," I threatened, though I knew that I couldn't lay a finger on him. He could use his wealth to do whatever he wanted.
But he can never kill Henry, my ex-boyfriend.
Michael moved closer to me and grabbed my hands.
"Ahhh! Leave me alone!" I whimpered in pain.
He dragged and threw me out of his room like trash.
I ran to the guestroom, as hot tears spilled down my cheeks burning my skin.
I really couldn't hold it anymore, just wanted to cry out all my pain maybe it might help relieve me a little.
I hit the table so many times, gnashing my teeth. It was obvious that I was transferring my aggressions onto the table.
I pulled out my phone and dialed Henry's number. I knew I still had the number. This wouldn't have happened if Juliana had decided to come.
I noticed that the line was ringing and felt a bit relieved. He was alive. My tears began to reduce as I waited for Henry to at least pick up so I could hear his voice.
After about twenty-five missed calls trying to get Henry, and he was not picking up his damn call, this was the time I needed to hear his voice. I couldn't help my sister, Alison because she hated me so much and would ask what I was still doing with Henry when I was married.
I broke down in tears, rolling on the cold ground. Who else wouldn't shed tears? Has something happened to Henry? They can't kill him? What if they did?
I kept thinking of it and wondered why he wasn't answering his phone.
I hated this family so much.
Henry's POV
"Why was she calling me?" I said I was in pain.
After she fainted, I had tried to go help her up, but the man, whose family I know is one of the biggest in his city, had ordered the guards to seize me.
I tried to be stubborn because I was only here to help her, Juliana sent me here.
But then I was threatened, their boss said. "If he has to act funny, start beating him up before we even reach where he would be thoroughly and we'll be beaten."
"Okay, sir!" they all said it at once.
There were four hefty men; there was no way I could fight them. I was treated like trash. They were all filled with weapons.
"Let me go! I was just trying to-" I tried to complete my statement but couldn't because a strong cane hit me mercilessly on my back.
I screamed and all I feared was my life.
"Let me go! Let me be! I was just trying to help. I am not going to take it lightly with this family!" I screamed at the top of my voice, if I was going to come out alive, that was when I could think of reporting them, but then they were much wealthier than I am.
In the compound they dropped me off, everything became blurred; they must have almost killed me. I felt that Ava and Juliana planned to set me up in that trap.
They flogged me so hard. In all parts of my body, I could feel pain.
It was a day I could never forget in such a hurry.
What made me go help her? All the years I made a simple mistake by sleeping with her sister, I wanted to help her, so that she could forgive me, but then it was just wickedness. I had always been over her and she went ahead to get married to such a heartless man.
I ran home like a thief when I was finally released. I got to Juliana's house but she wasn't there. I could never forgive them at all after all they did to me.
They had planned all this, and now they are all smiling.
Soon, I heard a knock on my door. When I checked I saw Juliana at the door. She was shocked to see herself in that state.
"What happened?" she asked in surprise.
I couldn't respond because at this point I was angry that it seemed had to respond to her. If I did, I would only be yelling, and I just needed to control my emotions because I was so angry.
"Talk to me, what happened? Where were you kidnapped? Who did this to you? Henry? I called several times but you weren't picking up. What is going on I need to know."
"Juliana, you all plan to do this to me. I wanted to please Ava even if it was once. But you all did this to me."
"What is wrong with you? Why beat around the bush? I don't know what happened to you and you are accusing me wrongly. What happened? Why all these bruises?. We need to get to the hospital first. I think this is the right thing to do." Juliana said and planned to help me up.
"Get away from me," I yelled. "You cause all this. I was planning on going to help Ava in your place. It should have been you. They locked me in their mansion and beat me up so badly that when they realized I was almost unconscious, they left me."
"What?" Juliana almost burst into laughter but tried to control herself because it sounded like mockery. I noticed the smile.
"Are you here to make a jest of me?" I asked angrily.
"No, if you had let me go, this wouldn't have happened to you," she said, and I knew it was the truth.
She told me not to go but I persuaded her. So that I could convince Ava to come back to me. I did not know that Ava was married to an animal.
"So sorry, Henry, let's get to the hospital first," she said, and I finally agreed.
