Chapter 5: His wrath

Gael

A pang of anger rises deep inside me. The moment Rocco reminded me about my connection to that man. My hatred and ocean-deep wrath were consuming me. I pulled a dangerous smile.

"It looks like you enjoyed making rude remarks, Mr. Agosti. You seemed to be more of a coward than the master of your household. Say hi for me to THE head of the Agosti family," I simply replied. It's a subtle reminder for this man that I can destroy his papa's reputation. Mr. Agoti's face darkens. I smirk devilishly.

"Shall we proceed to our real business? We don't have time for chatters, do we?" I added. Mr. Agosti forced a smile.

"Of course. Well, my father learned that Italy... I mean, its mafias are producing high-quality party drugs and Viagras. He did his research because he quite hates doing transactions with new people." I can guess what Rocco will say.

"He learned about a group that is based here in Verona who are making Viagra. He's seeking a transaction with you. He knew you're producing those," Rocco added.

I lean back and keep my eyes on him. "We do. But did he know that our prices were different from the other groups?" I ask.

Rocco laughs. "Do you really think my old man had just googled you on the dark web? Don't be a jest, DeLuca," Rocco asserts. I chuckled.

"How many bags did he need? I might have a supply on hand, but if it's more than that, I suggest you wait for a week. Tell him that," I explained.

Mr. Agosti laughs and sips his brandy. "Will you be able to produce ten thousand each, hmm? In a week?" Rocco's voice was challenging us. "I laugh. That would be millions of euros. Can the Agostis afford it?" I talk back.

A flash of irritation appears in his eyes. "No problem. We're here for business anyway," Rocco replied.

I simply nodded and acted like I was amused, but deep inside, I was also annoyed as much as this jerk feels. "You seem to have established a name here. I wonder how proud Emilio is because you're building an extension here," Rocco says, mocking.

I simply laugh and ignore his challenge. "Well, he is who he is in Rome. What is mine here is just MINE." I made sure Rocco understood the differences between him and his uncle. I'm not someone that he can easily provoke even if I'm ready to fight. "Grudge, eh? Interesting." Rocco smirks and sips his wine. Damn!

I stayed calm, but the storm inside me was already raging. We stayed for the night and decided to speak with the other bosses that attended the party. I went to a particular table after I got tired of talking with the others.

"Tired already?" Nathaniel stated, smirking to tease me.

"Don't be like that, Idriv. He seems to be in a bad mood already," Livius says. I cross my legs and sip my whiskey.

"You need a woman to cool off. There are so many around. A quickie can calm you. Their restroom was nice," Nathaniel continues, chuckling. I think this playboy had already tasted one of the ladies in this event.

My brow furrows, and Livius looks at him weirdly. "You already had one, huh? Nathaniel, you and your sex life are something else, huh?" Livius remarked. Nathaniel laughs.

"Well, I'm not a foolish one who is celibate for a secret reason. Sex is delicious, Gonzales. Stop acting like you haven't tasted it," Nathaniel says. Livius smirks and plays with his whiskey, looking at the alcohol.

"Sex was indeed delicious until you meet that one fucking person who will make you realize that it was heaven. There's a difference between delicious and heaven," Livius says. I frowned.

"What did you mean?" I ask. Livius's statement caught my attention. "You believe his statement?" Nathaniel asks.

"Come on. There's no way that a mere woman will make you feel like that. They're mostly gold diggers. Well, I said mostly because there's my mom, and there are others who are not."

"You might be talking with the generation nowadays. Most of them to be exact," I stated. Livius laughs. "I wasn't joking. I'm telling you my own experience. I'm not someone who will make up a story, am I?" Livius says.

I sighed and laughed after. "Alright, I'll listen. But don't blame me if she's one of those," Idriv says.

Nathaniel and Livius shake their heads and chuckle. We sip our whiskey. I close my eyes and groan. A part of me was still in that place, looking at the dessert that gave him...

"... heaven," he mutters.

Nathaniel and Livius look at me. "Heaven? Did you just say heaven?" Nathaniel asks. I look at them.

"I did. By the way, what did you mean with what you said, Gonzales?" I ask. Livius frowns and looks at me intently. "Did a woman make you feel like all the fucks that you have were just a delicious taste?" Livius asks.

I held my glass tightly. "Livius, don't give him a wrong idea. There's no way a girl exists like that. Marriage is just a transaction. It's either for status, to have a child, or whatever reason a person has."

Nathaniel was someone who never believed in love, and so he is. "Please, don't tell me you believe in love now, Gonzales?" Nathaniel added. Nathaniel and Livius were both 27 years old and they have different view about fucks and ladies.

"I don't," Livius replied.

I look at my glass and Atasha's face appear in this brown liquid. "But someone made me think how cowardly I was to believe that I didn't. That longing was even more tiring than hating someone," Livius continues.

"She's the only woman that I have had in bed that made me realize the differences between sex, hard f*cks, and lovemaking."

"Huh? Interesting," I commented.

"You gotta be kidding me. The two of you, snap your senses back. Don't let foolish words ruin your lives," Nathaniel says, scoffing. I sip my brandy.

"Sex is to cater to your needs. Hard f*cks are to cater to your thirst. Lovemaking?" Livius smirks and drinks all the alcohol in his glass.

"It's a combination of needs, thirst, carnal desire, gentleness, warmth, and love rolled into a heavenly bliss."

Livius's serious tone and reaction were enough to convince me. Did Atasha just give me a cruel distraction? "What the fuck? You have got to be kidding me. I don't need such shit in this lifetime," I whispered.

Livius shifts his gaze to me. Both of them are curious. I'm really anxious and I know it was written all over my fucking face. "Do you think I need it as well? She came in my life and now I'm fucking bothered even if it's already five years had passed!" Livius says. Their conversation was interrupted by a call.
