His brow creased slightly, his hands hovering as if he wanted to pull me close. I braced myself, but thankfully, he didn’t make contact, letting his hands fall back to his sides.

“Not enough of one,” he admitted, desperation bleeding into his voice. “I’m sorry, Zephyra. Sorry for every bit of pain I caused you. But I’m here to make it right. I’m here to win you back.”
