I couldn’t tell if my body suddenly grew exhausted from Xander draining my blood earlier, or if it was from the whole thing unraveling right in front of me, but I felt a sudden wave of pain hit me.

I gritted my teeth, sucking in a breath when it hit again, giving me no time to prepare for it. I reeled back on my feet, letting out a groan as I gripped my temples.
