CHAPTER 05 – Sample is missing

Christian’s POV

After three days

I was reading a file about our new shipment of garments when Elijah rushed into the study.

"What is it, Elijah? Seems like someone died," I said, flipping through the pages of the file.

"Boss, you will kill someone when you listen to this," he said, and from his serious expression, I knew he wasn’t there for hide and seek.

"Spill it, Elijah," I said, keeping the file on the table and leaning over it.

"Boss, the sample is missing!” he said immediately, and I was a bit confused about which sample he was talking about.

“What sample are you talking about, Elijah? Is this about the new diamond sample we sent?”

"Not that, boss. Your sperm sample that you’ve been storing for three days at Bellucci Hospital." I hit the table hard.

"What the f*ck are you talking about, Elijah? Don’t play games with me.” I walked over to him.

"I am not playing games, boss. Who dares to play with you? The hospital just called and said it’s missing." I clenched my teeth.

"I told those f*cking morons to keep it safe until I find a woman. What do you mean by missing? The entire bottle is gone, or did someone use it?” I kept my hands in my pockets.

“They said that the vial is empty,” Elijah said.

“So, someone dared to use it. Find out what happened to it? If someone used it, find out who and why they used it. Most importantly, find out the staff who is responsible for this negligence.”

“Yes, boss.”

“I want them to learn a lesson about what will happen when they play with fire.” I clicked my tongue.

“Check the CCTV in the hospital; I want answers as soon as possible, Elijah.”

At the Kincaid mansion

Violet’s POV

“Boss, you need to come downstairs.” I was about to head to the gym when Beth came in huffing and puffing.

“What happened, Beth? You couldn’t catch your breath. Looks like an apocalypse is coming.” I smile, tying my shoelaces.

“Boss, the doomsday is here. You need to come downstairs right now.” I pressed my lips and gave a questioning look at Beth.

“Linda and Nick are here!” I didn’t meet Linda since I caught her and didn’t return a call from Nick. At least a sorry is worth spending all my money on his everything.

“I will blow their heads.” I took the gun and rushed downstairs.

“No, boss, wait!” Beth came running behind me.

Everyone was gathered in the living room and barged into the circle like a storm, pointing my gun towards Nick’s head.

“You bloody ba*tard, how dare you come under my roof? I will blow your f*cking head.” My anger was rushing into my every vein when Beth pulled me from behind.

“Violet, don’t do anything crazy,” Linda was screaming.

“Violet, stop this. Are you going to paint the Kincaid mansion with blood?” It was Dad.

“You are not worth a bullet, you coward. Maybe your f*cking girlfriend should die today.” Then I pull Linda and point my gun at her forehead.

“No, Violet, please don’t do anything stupid. She is pregnant!” It was Nick pleading this time, and I was frozen when I heard the last part of what he said.

“What?” Everyone in the room was shocked, and my gun fell from my hand. Beth quickly took it and put it into her belt.

“What are you saying, Nick?” Dad asked in a firm voice.

“It’s true, we just found out. We thought to bring it to the family first.” My head started to feel dizzy. I kept two feet back and looked at Linda’s tummy.

“Linda, is this true?” Dad turned towards Linda and asked.

“Yes, it’s true. We are going to have a baby.” Nick hugged Linda.

A lump was forming in my throat, and I started to take deep breaths to swallow the truth.

Why am I worried about it? I should be happy to hear that someone got pregnant in our family. Is this because she is going to have the baby with Nick, my ex, or because I am losing the throne, or is it because I knew that becoming a mom is too far thing for me?

“Boss, boss,” I heard Beth calling me from far away. I came back to my senses.

“Linda, is Nick the father of the baby?” Dad asked. Beth has told Dad what happened that day, so Dad knew that Nick cheated on me.

“What are you talking about, Uncle? Nick is the father; otherwise, he won’t be here with me. He loves me so much.” Linda gave a mocking smile, looking at me, and kissed Nick. I looked away, huffing a warm breath like a dragon.

“Nick, I never expected this from you. A true man will never cheat on a woman. If you wanted to break up with Violet, you should have discussed it with her.” I was happy to hear that Dad spoke on my behalf. Nick looked away, but Linda rolled her eyes at Dad.

“Anyway, let’s face the reality. Since Linda is pregnant, according to the last will, the wedding should take place,” Dad said.

“We have discussed it, Uncle; we planned to have it within three weeks. Otherwise my baby bump will soon appear, and I won’t be able to wear my dreamy wedding gown.” Linda said with a pout.

“Look at the way b*tch was talking. I want to kick both of them,” Beth said in a lower voice.

“Seems like you two are in a hurry to get married,” I said.

“Yes, Violet, because I am not like you. I have a boyfriend and a baby, and why should I take time?” She giggled.

“Suits you, Linda, because I am not a woman who steals other men and sleeps with them.”

“You will learn to respect the future Kincaid leader, Violet,” Linda said angrily.

“Let’s see that, Linda.” I turned and walked back to my room.
