Amelia's innocent request sounded like a bomb in Ethan's mind. 

"Why?" asked Ethan after recovering from his shock. "As I recall, you really wanted Andrew to be your dad. Why did you change your mind?"

Amelia didn't answer his question immediately. Instead, Amelia hugged Ethan's arm, her expression turning sad.

"Because Mama didn't seem to like the idea..." Amelia mumbled listlessly, then looked at Ethan with teary eyes. "I just want my mom to be happy."
