AVERY’s POV

I stared at his face, and I swallowed back my words. What did he mean by that? 

Did he just say he also has kids? He must be joking, right? 

I kept squinting my eyes anticipating for him to explain what he meant to me, but he just stared at me back.

“Are you going to explain to me what you meant by that or not?”

I finally broke the silence, he walked over to his desk, took out a pen from the shelf just above the desk, and looked back at me.
