Sienna didn’t speak to me the entire morning.

Not in the hall, not in class, not even when I brushed past her on purpose, close enough that her arm grazed mine. She didn’t flinch. Didn’t blink. Didn’t even breathe, from what I could tell.

She was pale, like someone had drained all the color out of her. The fire that usually lived in her eyes—gone.
