Chapter 3

Eclipse Pack/ Luxury care hospital.

11:00am

Liam’s PoV

“What the fuck are you trying to say? My child is now growing in the belly of a woman I haven't set my eyes on before?!” I yelled over the phone, my rage was quickly hitting its highest.

“Liam, please, calm down…”

“Don’t fucking tell me to calm down, Olivia! I thought you'd be more careful since you're someone who knows my secret, and that's why I left this process in your hands, but what the hell am I hearing right now?” I snapped.

I wasn't ready to banter words over the phone, so I quickly disconnected the call, increased my car's speed to the highest, and drove down to the hospital. On getting there, I didn't even bother to answer the nurses who kept greeting me, I rushed straight to Olivia's office.

“Liam…” Before Olivia could say something else, I lunged towards her, wrapping my fingers around her neck and pinning her against the wall.

“What the hell were you telling me over the phone?” I questioned with a dangerous tone.

“Please, calm down, you're choking me…” She begged.

“I can fucking kill you right now and send your shitty body back to the pack.” I pressed on angrily, I could feel her breath coming out in small quantities

“P…p…please, Alpha, I beg you,” she choked.

I wasn't ready to deal with any dead body so I let her go, she fell on the floor caressing her reddened neck

“Start explaining!” I demanded.

“A procedure was carried out earlier and it happened that my staff mixed your jar with that of the donors and…” she looked down fearfully.

“And now a fucking human is carrying my pup? Olivia, I'm sure you know what's at stake here.”

She nodded, not daring to look me in the eyes.

Being a renowned Alpha king in the werewolf realm and the most popular businessman in the human world was something only a genius like me ‘Liam Sinclair’ could handle. It was a difficult task, but I believed anyone from my blood could juggle it. Now, my blood was growing in the womb of a mere human; who wanted to risk that?

“Take me to the person who made this mess,” I ordered, but she immediately knelt, rubbing her palms together.

“Please, Alpha, she's one of the best doctors here, nothing can happen to her please,” she pleaded.

“I wouldn't kill her. I'll just teach her not to play with an Alpha's seed next time… that is if she'll have the chance to see the next day.” I dashed out of the office. Olivia followed behind me, still pleading, but when she saw I wasn't going to reconsider, she led me to the office.

As we got closer to a particular door, a sweet scent lingered in the air, pulling me towards that direction. Before I knew what was happening, I found myself pushing the door open. Olivia's gasp filled the air at that moment.

My breath came to a full stop as the sweet scent enveloped my nostrils like air, except this was something extraordinary: it had a sweet, yet seducing aura.

“Is she the one with my seed?” The words just managed to kick out of my mouth. I didn't know who exactly I was referring the question to, but I needed an answer.

“Is this what I'm thinking?” Olivia whispered behind me as my eyes caught the rope of fate tied around my pinkie and that of the strange woman.

She was my mate! She was the one I'd spent half of my years looking for. I guessed the mate bond was too strong for her to handle that she fell on her knees

“Liam Sinclair.” Her sweet voice echoed.

I tried my best to understand what was going on as it was happening too fast for me to grasp, I'd never felt this dumb before. I found myself drooling over a lady I had just met. My eyes traveled to every corner of her face as I tilted my head down to get a proper view of her face.

She had the aura of a Luna, a powerful one at that. Her heart-shaped lips were inviting me for a kiss, and her neck was calling on me to mark her already. All he crazy things I'd love to do to her already filled my head. I had to use my last willpower to fight back.

She jerked as if suddenly coming back to reality, she stood up and I also did the same.

“It seems you know me already.” My eyes were fixed on her lips and I was sure she noticed it because her cheeks suddenly reddened.

“Who doesn't know you? I'm in the tech industry, so I know you very well,” she said without an ounce of enthusiasm for someone who knew the all-famous Liam Sinclair.

“Well, I'm Ava Tyson, but I don't think we need the introduction. Look, I'm sure you have more than one litre of sperm in you to fertilize another egg but as for this one…” she pointed to her tummy, saying, “It's gone.” Her eyes were burning with flames of anger, but they held something else, something that she was badly trying to hide behind the flames.

I let out a mocking chuckle, I purposely did that to make her feel intimidated

“Don’t be in a hurry to decide that, Ava. I'm not letting any other lady have the honors of harboring my sperm nor am I going to let you raise my child alone.” I clenched my jaw and hardened my eyes. I didn't want her to see the weakness the mate bond had inflicted on me.

“What?” Disbelief was boldly written on her face.

“Do I look like I'm happy having your sperm in me? You're saying it like I won a trophy or something…wake up man, it's just sperm and fuck the idea of letting you father my baby because it's never going to happen.” She picked up her bag and tried to walk away, but I was quick to grab her arm, yanking her back.

“No man born of a woman dares move when I'm still speaking! And I see you have a double-edged sword tongue...well, unfortunately, I know how to handle women like you,” I seethed.

“I can see you're suffering from delusion of grandeur, you're in the right place though, I'm sure the doctors can give you a few prescriptions to help,” she fired back, trying to snatch back her hand.

“I’m suffering from delusion of grandeur?” I was taken aback for a while.

“Well, I'd love to show you how people suffering from that behave.” Before she could say something else, I gently pushed her, making her land against the wall. I covered the space between us and bent my head to her lip level.

“Liam…” Olivia whispered.

I didn't pay her any attention as my eyes traveled down Ava's face. She'd forcefully closed her eyes together, her lips folded into her mouth so I wouldn't have access to them. I smirked as she trembled underneath me.

“You should learn to shut up, else I'll help you do that,” I whispered into her ear and turned to Olivia.

“Olivia, I think we're settled here, tell the other girl that the deal's been canceled and pay her off. As for Ava, she's coming with me.” I looked back at Ava, who was still flushed but she quickly picked up as soon as she heard what I said.

“I've said it before, and I'll say it again, over my dead body will I go anywhere with a man without manners like you. I don’t fucking care who you are or your popularity status, I'm not giving you my child!” She exclaimed. “And I think you need to learn some manners if you want to attain your success in the tech industry…excuse me,” she jabbed me aside and walked away, slamming the door behind her.

The doctor also followed her, leaving me and Olivia alone in the office.

For the first few minutes, I was dumbfounded at how brave she was.

I tried to reach for the door, but Olivia quickly stood in the way–she looked scared but mindful.

“Get out!” I bellowed, anger simmering in me.

“Please, spare her, she's a human, a young girl at that.” Olivia's voice shook with fear.

I exhaled, trying to hold back. Why didn't I just kill her in the office earlier?

“If I fucking lose my mate because of this useless stunt, I swear, I'll slit your throat in half with your family as my audience,” I snapped, tossing a death glare at Olivia.

She quickly withdrew, holding her neck dramatically.

“Your mate? I thought I was just seeing things when I saw the thread of fate. How come a human is the Alpha's mate?” She looked up curiously.

“Olivia,” I let out a low warning growl, she quickly bowed her head in submission.

“I know where she lives, she used to be my school mate so I'm quite familiar with her. I'll visit her and try to convince her,” Oliva said.

“Did I say you should convince her? I don't care what you have to do, even if it means you burning down the whole planet Earth, I don't give two fucks about it, all I want is my mate in my pack, within my reach else… I'll have to let your family witness your death while eating popcorn,” I growled.

“I am your cousin.” Olivia's voice shook with disbelief.

“That’s exactly why you're still alive. So you think you'd still be breathing if it weren't for our family tie? Get her for me, you have till sunset–” I paused to wet my lips before saying, “I don't fancy my woman living amongst these silly humans.” I looked Olivia dead in the eye.

“Yes, Alpha, I'll bring her to you before sunset.”

Ava’s PoV

To say I was pissed at this was a complete understatement–I was fuming. Who the hell did that brat think he was?

The moment my back crashed against my bed, I felt like I was going to fall asleep–that was all I needed. A nice warm bath, a good meal, and sleep, but the moment I remembered him, I jerked up, completely forgetting the sleep that almost enveloped me.

My house suddenly felt unsafe for me and the life growing within me. What if that man tracked me down?

“What if he tries to harm me or even worse?” I asked myself, guessing the only option left now was to flee from this place, from this country entirely.

I rushed downstairs, made a quick meal of omelet and bacon, and forced them down my throat as fast as I could.

As soon as I was done I searched through my phone app for the next available flight to the Philippines. Luckily, that was the last flight for the day, and there was an available seat, so I quickly booked it. As soon as my booking was confirmed, I packed up my things to leave.

“Good evening, madam,” Donna, my maid, greeted me as she walked in. Confusion clouded her eyes the moment she saw my bags.

"Donna, I'll be away for a while, and please, if by any chance I get a guest, tell them to book an official appointment. Do not give my contact to anyone, okay?” I instructed.

She had a worrisome look on her face. I knew she wanted to know more, which I'd have told her, but I had a flight to catch.

"Don't worry your head about me, ok? I just have urgent business to attend to."

"Ok, ma'am." I left after hugging her and immediately went towards the car.

I got into the car, and rubbed my stomach, thinking about how my baby was the only thing that kept me going. I was ready to be a mother and a father to him or her and I had no intentions of sharing my child with some rude brat.

I started the car and headed straight to the airport.

As I made a U-turn to enter the airport, A sleek, expensive red car made a dangerous cut, which blocked the road ahead of me. I had to quickly step on the brake so I wouldn't crash into the car. I closed my eyes in fear as my car's tire made a screeching sound.

My pulse raced.

“Hello, ma'am.” I looked up to see a man standing in front of my window with a friendly expression on his face.

“Sorry, I didn't see your car coming.” He smiled annoyingly, making me lose my cool.

“Are you fucking crazy? You almost got me killed and you're smiling…”

Before I could end my sentence, the door to my driver's seat opened and a big guy came to view.

“What the hell are you guys doing?” I was pulled out of the car, although not forcefully, they seemed to handle me with a hint of care.

“Can you let go of me now, else I'll scream!” I threatened, but they only smiled as the big guy threw me on his shoulder.

“Hey, who sent you? Look, I can give you triple what you were paid for. Just let me go…” I kept hitting the guy's back while kicking my legs in the air

“Ma'am, please be careful. We wouldn't want any harm to befall the precious life growing inside you,” one of them said.

Wait, how'd they know?

Before I could ask, I saw a figure standing a few miles away from us–it was doctor Olivia!

My head was already spinning as I tried to digest everything that had happened, but it was too much, so I gave in as I felt myself crawling into the darkness.
