Ezreal-
Ezreal woke with a jolt still on the lush green grass. There was an electric pain that shot through his side. He looked around him frantically. He saw cadeance rolled on her side coughing. He reached over and patted her shoulder.
“Twinkle toes are you okay? Do you remember what happened? Where is Eul?” the questions echoed through him like rocket fire. He felt lost where the fuck was his sister? Cadeance groaned and coughed. Her body twitching in pain. She tried to roll toward Ezreal but her entire body was seized by a jolt of electricity. Ezreal watched growing more concerned.
“Cadeance are you okay?” his voice dripped with worry as he rolled her over feeling a shock on his fingertips. There was metal on her dress that was still conducting electricity from whatever weapon those pigs struck them with.
“I am so sorry Cadeance but..”
With a quick, violent tug, he ripped her clothing off and flung the metal piece as far away as possible. Shame and disgust swirled in his gut as he stood over her exposed body. She lay there, hair splayed out like a halo around her head, still reeling from the electric shock. He scrambled to his feet, unable to meet her eyes, and picked up her discarded clothes. The sky blue dress was delicate and soft under his fingertips, a stark contrast to the roughness of his actions moments ago. As he helped her sit up-right, he noticed how the new cotton and silk fabric caressed her skin, soothing and comforting after such an ordeal. Gently, he pulled her old dress over her bare body, grateful that it was so simple to put on and cover her up again.
“I am so sorry Cadeance, I hope you don't feel violated.” Ezreal whispered as he helped her lay back down. Her Face heated at his words.
"Well that was quite the shocking thing to say. And thanks for the electrifying experience," Cadeance quipped, forcing a laugh through the pain.
Ezreal blushed as he ran his hands down his face roughly. She smiled at him as she smoothed down her dress.
Ezreal's thoughts tumbled out in a jumble as he desperately tried to piece together what happened to Eulie. "The weapon...the prince...arrested her...but then what? Did she escape? Is she safe?" He rubbed his head in frustration, longing for answers that seemed just out of reach. He needed to find his sister. She doesn't do well on her own. They haven't been separated since the night his father died.
The door was slammed shut, Ezreal watched Eulie run to the window. What was she doing? He soon followed her watching her icy blue eyes glaze over in fear. At this time Eulie was a mute so it scared Ezreal as she cried “dad” at the window that was covered in snow. He looked out the window to see his father driving off. It wasn't safe; they were supposed to be on lock-down for the incoming Ice storm.
“Ez I am done. I can't do this anymore. We are fifteen, you can drive us away. I have mom's car keys. I know we aren't supposed to touch mom's car but I can't do this. Either you drive us or I'm going on my own.” Eulie croaked her lecture out. That was the most words Eulie had said since the death of their mom when they were ten. Ez was in shock, he looked at his sister confused.
“What do you mean Eul? We can't leave.” Ez asked her as she frantically pulled a pre-packed bag out. His shock only increased more.
“Eul you can’t leave.” She just shook her head at him and pushed on the window seal.
“Ez you don’t want to leave. The bitchress loves you. She hates me. You don’t see it ever.” her voice croaked as tears flowed in her eyes. The window creaked as Eulie pushed it open. They were on the third floor and he was terrified. The roof was frozen from the snowstorm that raged on outside. She pushed herself through it.
That night Eulie and her father had been in separate car accidents. Their father was immediately transferred to the hospital but Eulie had gone missing. They hadn't found her until two months after the event. She was completely disheveled. Many things had gone awry, she still refuses to talk about it.
“Ezreal.. Hello” Cadeance waved in front of his face. Ez shook his head and focused on her. She was a real beauty but he knew he'd never have a chance with her. He had completely destroyed that chance many times over with his retaliations. She had this flawless skin that was a beautiful ebony. It reminded him of dark chocolate. She was so innocent in all of her endeavors. He had never seen her be mean or even inappropriate. Her eyes were this beautiful honey color that seemed to glow in the sunlight. She always let her hair be natural by letting her curls shine bright but this time she changed her hair. The curls were still shining but she had her front pieces braided down with flower clips in it. It seemed to hang perfectly against her skin. She looked like a flower faerie. She looked at him confusedly, he had been starring quite a bit.
“Ezreal are you okay?” her voice was soft as she touched his shoulder. He smiled letting out a laugh.
“Yeah, I am good. I was just thinking about the night Eul ran away.” He answered so nonchalantly, it surprised her. She hadn't known that Eulie had run away. She picked up the fact he wasn't going to elaborate so she moved on.
“Oh okay, well uh What are we going to do now? Eulie was arrested.” Cadeance asked slowly, backing up to regain her stability. She always wanted to swoon over him. To her he was the ideal looking man, but he was a complete ass. He was always mean to her except for the last twenty minutes. He stretched his chin that had a slight stubble growing to it.
“Hm we should follow the horse trail, Maybe see if they made camp so we get my sister back so we can go home.” he was so confident with his theory that she wanted to joke about it.
“So detective Ez where is the horse trail” she giggled out slightly, her giggle turned into a snort as she thought about him looking like sherlock holmes. The long coat and pipe she couldn't hold her laugh in. Her laugh was so voluptuous she sank to her knees as he joined in the laughter. His laugh was melodic and deep. She felt as though she could be swayed right into his bed by that laugh. Their laughter continued until they were both wheezing and a deep gruffly cough came from beside them. They looked to the left quickly and were met by three snarling faces atop three magnificent horses. Ezreal's eyebrow rose slightly in question at their appearance.
"Can we help you?" Ezreal's voice dripped in annoyance. The leftmost male's lip rose in a snarl.
"We are here to escort you to the palace." the middle one responded with surprising kindness.
"As if we would ever come with you," Cadeance spoke up, her body instantly wanting the world to swallow her up. The last time they spoke up against these 'knights' Eulie got taken while she was dying from electrical shock. If it weren't for Ezreal her heart surely would have stopped from the constant electricity to her body. The rightmost knight jumped down from his horse and walked toward the two.
"Look, ma'am, we are not here to hurt you. Our prince instructed us to escort you to the palace where your companion is being held. If you come with us calmly, no harm will be done and your companion won't be discarded." his words struck Ez with anger. His sister is being held at a castle and they were threatening not only his but her life as well. He was seriously hating this entire complication. What the hell had gone wrong with that machine. Ezreal started thinking back to the moments before the incident.
‘Ezreal strode confidently into the lab, his eyes immediately drawn to the chaotic mess on the table. Someone had clearly been tinkering with the delicate time flux machine without proper precautions. With a sigh, he made his way over to the table and began to carefully clean up the scattered tools and wires. As he worked, Ezreal's mind raced with questions. Who could have been so reckless? And what damage could they have caused to such a powerful device? Once the table was cleared, Ezreal turned to retrieve the necessary safety equipment. He donned the protective pads and goggles, though he knew they were hardly ever used since the data recording feature of the machine made physical contact unnecessary. But still, he couldn't risk any accidents.
Suddenly, he noticed movement out of the corner of his eye. Professor Grimley was inside the flux machine, furiously typing away at the controls. Ezreal's curiosity piqued but before he could get closer, he heard the familiar clack of his sister's heels approaching from the door. Quickly, Ezreal moved away from the machine and focused on recording the recent data that had been inputted into it. His mind buzzed with questions and suspicions as he worked, eager to unravel this mystery before him.’
…
"Ez I really think we should go with them," Cadeance spoke softly to Ez. he seemed to have zoned out. He shook his head and looked down at her. She was so beautiful. Her voice was so soft. He was enchanted by her.
"Okay, we need to get my sister. She's not exactly stable on her own for very long." Ezreal's voice was rough as if he were about to cry. She felt the need to touch his arm. Her fingers gently squeezed his bicep.
"Alright, sir knight, let's get moving. But before we do, could you please introduce yourself?" Cadeance had a kind and gentle nature about her. Even when questioning the guards earlier, her words carried underlying sweetness despite any anger that may have slipped out. Cadeance slipped to her knees to pick up her bag, she smiled seeing the dragon and fledgling curled up on the top flap of her bag. She softly moved the tongue of her bag and slipped them inside. She slowly picked it up with the young animals still sleeping soundly. The pixies that decided to stay around saw her actions and decided they would hide there too. They flew over staying out of sight of the guards they snuck into the brown book bag.
"I am Xander, My rank is Agent-Blue. On my right is Zion, He is ranked Knight-Red. and to my left is Kolino, He has rank Knight-Green." the center guy spoke up introducing themselves. Cadeance was confused by the ranking but she would ask about it later. She nodded and waved her hand to all of them.
"Well it's good to meet you boys, my name is Cadeance but you can call me Cad. this here is Ezreal..." Cadeance started to introduce her companion before he interrupted.
"You can not call me Ez." she looked up at him confused and shook her head.
She continued "the girl your prince took earlier is his younger sister- Eulie. She is a good friend of mine and we would more than appreciate being reunited with her." her words were calm and sweet with every syllable. Ez admired her confident yet kind demeanor.
"It is good to meet such a lovely lady. Shall we get going then?" Xander responded flirtatiously. For some unknown reason, the flirt that left Xander's lips angered Ezreal.
"Cad, please stay next to me. I don't trust them." Ez whispered in Cadeance's ear. She nodded up to him and looped her arm into his.
"So shall we just be walking behind you or what?" Cadeance laughed out softly. Xander laughed and then whistled.
"We weren't sure whether you would be hostile or not. So we have backup plus extra horses." Xander spoke up as ten sets of "agents" or knights galloped closer to them. The hoofs of the horses seemed to echo loudly in Ezreal's ears.
"Let's just get going. I want to get to my sister as soon as possible." Ezreal gritted out. He was extremely worried about her. His sister always had mental instabilities. From age five his sister had anxiety, then from age ten, she went mute until fifteen. Since then she has dealt with depression and anxiety. Thankfully she hasn't gone back to being mute but Ez had been extremely careful with her about it. It is terrifying for him, especially since he knows she goes through these things but he can't help her with any of it.
"Okay, let's get going." cadence rubbed his arm softly. Xander signaled for two of the "Agents" to give them a few horses.
"we'll just use one horse," Ez spoke up, his facial features falling into a Serious, Grave face. Cadeance smiled up at him as he moved to help her up the tall, magnificent beast. He jumped up behind her and the horse neighed at the weight of them. The horse's beauty seemed to magnify Cadeance’s in Ezreal's mind.
