I don’t know why I’m angry, but I should really be furious right now.

After everything I said to Melissa, the only response she could give was, “Okay.”

Okay? Really?

At least I expected her to argue back, to snap at me, to say something—anything—that would show me she still had some fight in her. But no. She just stood there, calm, composed, and let my words hang in the air like they didn’t matter. It’s as if nothing I said even touched her.
