POSTPONED

RILEY

Indeed I was not even shocked to hear that from him. From that moment I knew that he would do anything for his little mate. This was a wedding we have been planning for so long now and Henry couldn't wait to put it on hold because he has found his mate.

I couldn't help but turn around and noticed how shocked and surprised everyone was. Well they have all heard that the wedding could not hold anymore. I turned to see my best friend and she really felt so disappointed. Now I know why she never really liked Henry. She has always seen him as a betrayer and now he has proven her right.

"No," I finally decided to say something knowing fully well that there was nothing else I could say. "We can't just postpone our wedding. Don't you remember how long we have been looking forward to this day. What about the promise we made to each other? You just decided to throw all of that away because of this thing?"

"It's just a matter of time Riley dear." Henry tries to explain and I wasn't really buying any of his explanations.

"I know what we promise to each other but my wolf is really going nuts and I can't help it. You will always be my Luna and best friend and I can't trade you for anyone else; not even my mate here. Sophie here is a very weak omega and she has been treated so badly In her pack and I can't allow her to remain there because it will really hurt me badly."

Lies!...lies!...lies! was what he kept saying.

I kept staring at him and he decided to let go of his mate and came closer to where I was standing. He took my chin in his hands and looked into my eyes.

"Let her stay with us here. We would take very care of her instead of allowing her to go back to her pack. My wolf is stronger next to her. The rejection will totally kill me."

I kept staring at Henry and waited for him to finish. I took a step backwards and decided to clap for what he had just said to me with a smile on my face. I know that this is what he has always wanted and now he has seen the perfect time for it.

I didn't know how Henry changed into someone else like this because he wasn't the same Henry that left me hours ago. Now he is a different person.

He might try so hard to act like he cared but there was coldness in his voice.

"No, I won't allow that." My answer sounded so calm but was loud enough for everyone to hear.

I could feel the shock in everyone's eyes but I can't let another person take my position in Henry's life. We have been through a lot and not only that a few months ago I have been having this constant dream about the pack which was about to be put into danger. I couldn't see the person's face causing those harms In my dreams but I know for sure that it was a woman and seeing Sophie now; I don't trust her one bit.

"Riley dear," Henry called out to me. "My wolf can't really take it if I should reject her." Henry was really so selfish and the only thing he could think of was protecting his mate. He doesn't even care about how I feel.

"I said no, I won't allow her to stay here. We have talked about this before and we agreed that you would reject our mates no matter what and besides we can put her in any other pack, not this one."

One question that was really bothering me was why Henry decided to embarrass me like this in public but I didn't care about that right now instead I turned back with speed and headed straight to my room.

I switched off my phone not wanting to hear from anyone. This time I didn't even care if I ruined my makeup or my dress or even my bedsheets.

The thought of Henry finding his true mate and trying to protect her kept making me sad. Henry had forgotten all the promises we made to each other. Now he doesn't care. He just cares about himself and his mate.

Two years ago... I was out shopping when I got a call that my best friend was really injured. I quickly left everything I was doing and headed home. I arrived home and everywhere seemed to be dark. Suddenly the lights went on and I saw Henry down on his one knee. I was so shocked I looked around and saw his beta, my best friend whom I thought was injured. They all tricked me and I didn't know that Henry was trying to propose. It was really so sweet and a remarkable day.

"I will promise to protect you and stand by you Riley. You being my mate has been nothing but a blessing to me and I will never for once betray your trust in any way. I will be so glad if you do me the honor by being my Luna."

"Yes I will." I responded almost immediately with tears in my eyes. Despite the fact that we were werewolves and we don't actually need this but I have always wanted this to act as a normal human and Henry really read my mind.

But now it's the opposite of what is happening. He has failed me and our love. I started to think that maybe Henry had never really loved me. I actually do not know what else to think again.

I actually cried myself out all day and Henry didn't even bother to come check in on me.

I was still asleep and still in my wedding dress when I felt a cold hand touch me. I woke up immediately and looked around. It was already morning.

"Have you been crying? Your face looks swollen." He asked, trying to show concern but I know that deep down inside of him, he doesn't care.

"Why do you try so hard to care when it's clearly written that you don't." I responded as I tried to avoid his contact.

"I know this is actually hard for you but I will still be with you no matter what. I can't just allow Stella to go back to her pack. She won't be able to survive there."

This was exactly why he came to my room this early morning; to continue from where he had stopped yesterday.

I didn't know what else to say as I tried to open my mouth. I was so tired of the whole thing.

"Why did you decide to postpone our wedding and disappointed everyone," was what came out of my mouth.

"Really Riley, you know exactly what the reason is and you are asking me again."

I remained calm and then reminded him, "I will promise to protect you and stand by you Riley. You being my mate has been nothing but a blessing to me and I will never for once betray your trust in any way. Your words not mine."

I noticed a feeling of sadness in his face but before I could look more it was all cleared up.

"Things have changed Riley dear. You might not really understand this because you haven't met your mate but I have and I will go nuts if I don't have her by my side and that's why I want you to agree that she stays. I don't want to be the only one that will decide that." I watched Henry say all these to my face.

I wasn't in the mood for any long talk because no matter what my opinion is, Henry will still do what he wants.

"Whatever you want is fine by me." I finally said and decided to lie back on the bed.

"Wow... Riley I'm so glad you finally accepted. You are still ahead of her no matter what and she won't stay here for free. I will make sure she serves you and does what you want." Henry said with excitement in his voice.

"I have already had everyone sorted out on yesterday's issue. Everything is back to normal and I warned everyone seriously not to talk about what actually happened yesterday. So you can take as much rest as you can while I go help myself with something else." He continued and placed a peck on my cheeks before leaving my room.

Henry felt really so happy in keeping his mate and it just kept me wondering why I decided to end up with Henry instead of actually waiting for my mate. And for Henry to disrespect me like this I will surely pay him back.
