Two days of replaying that moment over and over in my head. Two days of watching Ace pretend everything was fine when I knew he'd given up his entire future for me.

Two days of drowning in guilt.

I stared at the ceiling of my room, my body heavy against the mattress like I was made of lead. Whenever I closed my eyes, I saw a ring glinting in the porch light before he gave it away.
