Kael and Tom turned at the same time. Kael lifted a hand, signaling the rest of the men to stay back, while he motioned for Tom to follow him. They moved on their toes, careful and silent, heading toward the source of the noise.

When they stepped into the second room, everything looked disturbingly normal. No broken furniture. No signs of a struggle. Nothing shattered on the ground.
