BACK IN KAEL’S PACK

Kael sat in his office, his one leg tapping the floor repeatedly. It didn’t calm the storm inside him. He shot up from the chair and began pacing from one end of the room to the other. It had been weeks since he gave Aria the poison. Every night, he expected her to show up at his door, but each night returned empty, leaving him with a sorer mood than before.

The office door opened and Tom walked in.

“Greetings, Alpha,” he said with a bow.
