“You said I should what?” Liam asked, just to be sure his ears were not betraying him.

Aria walked toward him. The soft click of her armor echoed through the chamber, each step slow, deliberate. The sword in her grip looked heavier than it should have, and though her spine was straight, her fingers trembled slightly around the hilt.

“I want to learn how to kill,” she repeated.
