In Kael’s pack, Kael and Tom paced in front of the closed door like caged wolves. Neither spoke, yet both of them kept glancing at the door as if their stare alone could force it to open. The air carried the smell of fear and impatience. Whenever Tom paused, Kael took another step, and whenever Kael slowed, Tom resumed pacing.
