****OLIVIA POV****
When I was little, I and Zoey promised each other we would have our backs. Nothing would stop us, no one would ever come between us.
Who knew fate had other plans for us.
She was in a dress I should be in, with my ring marrying my fiance whom he didn't even have the decency to say it to.
I wish I lost my sight this instant,I couldn't bear the scene.
It was gut wrenching.
The hall was silent,everyone watched. The only thing I could hear was the shutters of the cameras. Even the air felt tense.
“How dare you show your face here?” Luciana my mother hissed.
I stood quiet, gazing into Zoey's eyes.
“How could you?” I finally spoke in a shaky voice. Tears threatening to pop out.
“What are you doing here Olivia?” Zoey asked, skipping eye contact.
I slowly tightened my fists.
‘Get those tears back the fuck in olivia.' I cursed inwardly.
“You're not welcomed here.” Luciana said, snapping her fingers.
“Security, escort this trash out.”
Their expressions said it all, they knew I got out but it didn't seem to bother them.
Really? Trash?.
That's not what I am.
“I'm not going anywhere.” I snapped, breaking through the security.
“After everything!” I trashed the table to the floor as the wine glasses landed with a shrieking sound.
Everyone gasped.
“How could you!” They all gave me space.
Let them call me crazy, I didn't care anymore, they did this. Not me.
I was finally doing it,I was finally snapping, I was taking action.
No more coldness, this was enough.
But him…
Dean just stood in a corner, watching with a terrifying smirk.
He was enjoying this?
Wait,was this what he wanted?
To see how I would react.
I paused, breathing heavily. Looking at all my damages.
The security held me down, their strength was too much to fight.
“Throw her out!” Luciana barked.
“No!” a voice counted.
He finally spoke and the noise ceased. The security paused as he approached slowly.
Each step, more commanding than before.
“And who do you think…”
“Dean Anderson.” Gavin cut her off with a stiffened smile, No,scared.
He seemed afraid.
“Anderson?” Luciana’s eyes widened with shock as she bowed her head.
“You–you came, apologies for this minor distraction.” Luciana said.
“Take her away.” She whispered to the guards.
“No.”
“Sorry?” Gavin asked in confusion.
“Do you know this girl?” He asked.
“The girl is mine.” He said in a deep voice.
Gavin though confused and speechless signalled them to free me.
“I promise the Internet will not hear of this.” He whispered and Dean nodded.
Just like that I was freed, this was when my heart began to skip about my decision. Who did I really make a deal with?
•••••••••••••••
“You don't understand who you're dealing with.”
This was the first thing Gavin said to me as he pulled me to a corner.
“Really?Is this the only thing you have to say?”
“It was for your good.”
I paused. “What?”
What does he mean?
“Believe me.” He whispered before leaving.
He left without fully explaining what he meant.
Could this be the reason he didn't come? To keep me safe.
But from who? My heart raced with possibilities…
Wait Olivia, this man abandoned. These are all excuses.
How could you even be thinking about it?
~~~~~~~~
I sat in the corner, everyone avoided me like a freak. Sending me deadly glares, all I did was react.
Luciana's eyes said it all, accepting me with pain in her voice.
Zoey couldn't even look me in the eyes.
“Enjoying the wedding?” A strange man, asked from the shadows,I could barely see his face but something seemed off about him.
He looked drunk,No, unstable.
His eyes were terrified.
“What business do you have with him?”
“Excuse me?” I asked him.
“Listen to me, child.” He moved out the shadows, suddenly grabbing my hands and scanning around before whispering.
“Whatever business it is you have with Dimitri Anderson…end it and run for your life. It will not end well for you, you will become a shadow of your former self. Slowly you will lose your purpose until you realize you no longer have a soul…”
He paused the moment he clashed eyes with Dean,who glared from a distance with dark eyes.
The man fled, leaving me perplexed.
My ear itched for more,I needed more information about who the hell I signed a contract with.
So I followed, into the quiet, away from the music.
“Wait please.” I whispered trying to catch up.
“Run child.”
“I need to know more.”
“Dimitri will destroy your soul…come with me and I will help you.”
Who was Dimitri…did he mean Dean?
“Come now.” He whispered.
I followed, something told me what I was doing was right.
The moment we stepped out of the hotel through the back.
I freezed, my veins iced.
Dean was there…waiting.
“You monster,stay behind me child.” The man said, moving me behind him while he pulled out a blade.
“You made a big mistake coming back.” Dean growled.
The blade glowed,a glowing blade?
He charged, but in a blink of an eye he was taken out.
Dean took him out with an inhumane speed,he collided with a car breaking his ribs.
“Monster,die in hell.” The man cursed with terror filled eyes.
“You first.” He whispered before driving his…
Hands inside his chest ripping…
He ripped out his heart!
Dean's eyes changed color,far from that of a human.
He approached me closer,my body vibrating in fear.
“Wh- what the hell are you?” I stuttered
He didn't answer, he drew me closer by the waist and aggressively sniffed my neck.
Before lifting up my chin with his bloody hands.
I looked at the dead man's body, haunted by the scene.
“Don't try to run away next time.” He whispered in my ears.
We're not alone in this world, they were creatures who lived in the dark. I never believed that until now…
I signed a contract with this monster, could this be my fate?
He preyed on my weakness and I fell into his trap because of my taste for revenge.
But there was something else, apart from me feeling afraid. I felt pain. Not mine,His.
He collapsed to his knees, groaning. Vein-like patterns glowed from his ribs before dying out.
“Why is it different with you?” He hissed.
I felt something I couldn't really explain.
How could I have been so careless, sealing a deal about my life.
Now a creature owns my soul and in return…
Revenge.
