I was getting some paperwork done in my office when I heard a soft knock at my door.

I looked up and gave a soft ‘come in’. I already knew who was at the door.

"I didn't think that I would find you here. I simply took a lucky guess. And to be honest, all my hopes were staked on you being with your new lady friend."

I chuckled at his reply, and he settled in the chair opposite me.
