Revenge

“What the hell? Why didn’t he keep his promise?” Emma started to get emotional. She never expected Jason to do something that surprised her. Moreover, the situation around her was very chaotic. Even her friends were looking at her questioningly.

Jason stepped closer to Emma with a sweet smile that never faded from his face. “Are you surprised by my arrival?” he asked in a whisper while standing right in front of the woman he loved.

“What are you doing, Jason? Don’t joke. I don’t like that,” Emma growled while widening her eyes.

“I just want to meet my future wife,” Jason whispered near Emma’s ear.

Emma clenched her fists very tightly, holding back from scolding Jason in front of the other students. “Hahaha, are you joking? We don’t know each other. Why do you want to see me?” she said with a serious expression without the slightest smile.

Jason wasn’t hurt by Emma’s answer. He smiled meaningfully. “Yes, that’s right. We don’t know each other yet. So, I want to get to know you now.” The atmosphere around was immediately lively. Many female students wanted to be in Emma's position.

"Are you joking?" Emma growled.

"No." Jason extended his right hand forward. "My name is Jason. Nice to meet you," he said with a sweet smile. However, Emma remained silent and did not respond. Jason lowered his hand again.

"Nice. I like your attitude." Jason gave a thumbs-up, then walked away from Emma.

"Wow, amazing. You managed to conquer our campus idol, Em. Oh my God! Can we switch positions? I really envy you," Sheina said excitedly.

"What? The man just now is the campus idol, right? Are you serious?" Celine asked with a shocked expression.

"Yes, that's right. Oh my God! Hello, what's wrong with you? Why don't you know him?" Sheina answered in a high and excited tone. She did not expect that her friend was missing information about something that was often talked about by other female students. Meanwhile, Celine just scratched the back of her neck with an innocent expression.

Emma, who saw her friends' responses, could only sigh heavily. She then chose to sit back in her chair and rest her head on the table. Today's burden had really taken up her mind and energy.

"Is there an English class today?" Emma asked with a lazy face.

"No. Why? Do you miss that killer lecturer?" Rey said bluntly.

"Up to you. I'm not in the mood to argue with you." Emma looked annoyed and immediately covered her face with a book.

"Hey, don't get angry. I was just kidding." Rey approached Emma.

"He's starting to seek attention." The other friends jeered.

Emma was getting more annoyed. "Enough! Shut up, all of you! You're noisy!"

"Wow, you're pretty, but you act wildly too," Rey said with a smile, making all his friends laugh teasingly.

Hearing the word "wild," Emma remembered Austin's words earlier. "Akkhh ... annoying!" she growled angrily to herself. Her friends immediately became quiet and did not dare to disturb her anymore.

At the medical faculty, Jason, who was walking leisurely towards his class, became the center of attention of the female students around him. A smile had not left his thin lips since leaving Emma's class earlier. The happiness after meeting his crush really made him excited this morning.

"He's so handsome." The female students were excited to see Jason.

"His smile is so tempting. Does he have a girlfriend? I'm really curious," added another female student.

"I don't think so. But we have a tough competitor, guys. The beautiful Natasya, who is the idol of the students on this campus, also likes him." The female students continued to talk about Jason.

"Morning everyone." Jason had arrived at his class.

"What's wrong with you? Your face looks so radiant," said Jason's friends.

"What the hell? Nothing. Just ordinary." Jason smiled as he sat in his place. If it weren't for Emma's request, he might have screamed hysterically by now and announced that he had proposed to a girl. However, he held it back to keep his promise to the girl he loved.

"Hey, bro. This is a gift from Natasha." One of Jason's friends approached while giving him a box of chocolate brownies.

Jason just glanced at it without wanting to take the box in his friend's hand. "Oh, you guys just eat it," he replied quickly and immediately sat down in his chair.

"Wow, we're lucky we're in the same class as you, so we often get free food," said Jason's friends, who immediately fought over the delicious brownies. Meanwhile, Jason chose to ignore it and busy himself with his cellphone.

The day turned to afternoon. It was already 2 p.m. Emma was walking leisurely through the park while her gaze was busy staring at her cellphone.

"Gosh! That was almost it," said Celine, who held Emma's arm. "If I wasn't there, you might have hit the trash can, Em."

Emma just smiled in response to her friend's scolding. "Thank you, Celine. You've saved me from bad luck."

"What are you doing? You seem really busy," asked Celine, who was curious while glancing at the cellphone Emma was holding.

"I'm replying to a chat," Emma answered, immediately putting her phone into her sweater pocket. She was afraid that Celine would find out that she was chatting with Jason.

A few minutes later, the two of them arrived at the cafeteria and immediately joined their classmates, who were already waiting. When Emma had just sat down on her chair, Jason came with his friends. The cafeteria suddenly became noisy.

"Oh my, I'm so annoyed. Why do I have to be on the same campus as him?" Emma tried to stay calm and ignore Jason's presence.

"As usual. She's always beautiful. It feels like a dream that she's my fiancée, even though only our parents are watching," Jason thought while stealing a glance at Emma.

Jason and his friends sat in a place not far from where Emma was, only about 5 meters away. He openly watched Emma, who was busy talking with her friends.

"Did I see it right? The campus idol is looking at us now," Celine whispered to her friends, who immediately turned to where Jason was.

Emma, who heard it, immediately looked at Jason. Her seat facing Jason made it possible for her to clearly see the man’s expression now. “What the hell? He’s deliberately seeking my friends’ attention.” She immediately turned her gaze elsewhere.

“By the way, when is Mr. Austin’s class?” Emma asked, trying to distract her friends from Jason.

“Tomorrow,” Rey answered spontaneously.

“What?!” Emma shouted in surprise.

“Gosh! Lower your voice!” Celine scolded.

“Don’t tell me you haven’t finished your assignment, right?” Rey guessed, understanding Emma’s facial expression.

“I haven’t even done a single bit of it,” Emma answered with a tired face.

Her friends immediately sighed in resignation. They looked at Emma with pity. “Let’s do it together tonight. Besides, Mr. Austin won’t know that we’re helping you,” Rey said, which was agreed upon by the other friends.

“No one is allowed to help her with the assignment I gave her.” Suddenly, a deep voice was heard coming from behind their seats. Emma and her friends immediately turned to the source of the voice. They were all shocked when they found out who was behind them.

"If anyone helps her, I'll give you a bad grade, and I won't graduate," said the man, who was none other than Austin.

Emma frowned while biting her lower lip. She held back her annoyance towards the lecturer she hated the most. Without thinking long, she immediately stood up from her seat and approached Austin. All eyes around watched the moment of the step, including Jason, and the atmosphere turned silent and tense.

Austin, who realized Emma's movement, stared at the young woman and watched her every move. His brow furrowed when he realized the change in Emma's facial expression, who was now in front of him.

"What are you doing?" asked Austin, who had a bad feeling about his student. And it turned out that his hunch was right. The girl suddenly cried in front of him.

Austin was confused to see Emma crying. "Hey, what's wrong with you?" Emma's friends were also confused. Jason, who saw it, immediately stood up and was about to approach his beloved girl. However, it was broken by Emma's words that surprised him quite a bit.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Austin. I accidentally got my lipstick on your shirt," Emma said, surprising all the students around her.

"What do you mean, Emma?" Austin asked in surprise, his eyes wide open in disbelief at the words that came out of her tiny mouth.
