I spoke out against Katelyn, anger thick in my voice, but before I could pull her further away, Matthew reached for her other hand.

“Let go,” he snapped, voice firm. “Can’t you see she’s not feeling well?”

The audacity of him touching her again lit something in my chest. I refused. My grip tightened.

“She is still the mother of my child,” I bit out. “And I have the right to protect her.”
