After a brief walk back in my office, my eyes were drawn again to the glass wall that separated my world from Katelyn’s.

She was on the other side, reviewing documents, tapping notes into her tablet, her hair falling over her shoulder in that easy, distracted way I remembered so well.

For a long time, I just watched. I remembered when she would have looked up and smiled, or teased me about staring.
