The next morning, after a long, anxious night watching over Ethan as he struggled with a fever, I finally heard his breathing slow and turn steady.

I let myself rest for a short while then I walked into the kitchen. As soon as Ethan woke up, he saw me busy in the kitchen, and he was very happy. He looked tired but better than before.
