Ruby’s POV

I repeated Austin’s words in my head like a spell.

“Run as fast as you can. Take the back roads. Stay out of sight. Come back safe.”

So I moved fast, cutting through the narrow forest path behind the old industrial zone. Austin said the werewolf doctor usually kept his field clinic here. The trees cast long shadows, and every snapping twig made my heart jump.
