Ruby’s POV

The infirmary was completely dark.

Austin was still right in front of me, his body close, his breath warm and fast. I didn’t dare move. His hand was braced beside my head, trapping me against the wall.

My heart was pounding so hard, I thought he could hear it.

He leaned in.

His cheek brushed mine. Soft. Slow.

His breath grew heavier. Hot.

His forehead touched mine.

Then I felt his nose slide gently against mine.
