Ruby’s POV

I didn’t even hear him coming.

One moment, I was unlocking my car in the dimly lit parking garage. Next, someone grabbed me from behind. His hand clamped over my mouth before I could scream. I twisted, elbowed, and kicked, but he was strong. Panic flooded me as my back hit the cold metal of the car.

Then I saw his face through the eyeholes of a cheap black mask. Something about the way he moved, the shape of his jaw... it felt too familiar.
